As a SENCO, private SEN tutor and parent advocate I would advise caution in going to a private EP for an ASD assessment. Some families do choose to take the private route to access a diagnosis, however I think caution is wise. It is possible (though not right!) that a diagnosis from a private psycho...

Totally agree with what everyone has said here, it's a personal decision but your initial post sounds like you're reluctant already. It is such a stressful time it seems like it'd be best avoided!

The Accacia adventure playground in Mitcham are SEN friendly. Lots of the children I work with go there and find it a safe space to hang out.
