Re: What musical instrument to learn?

Mine both play the piano, which I think is lovely to start off with. It is also not that "hard" to listen to if they have not mastered it yet - violin on the other hand....

Re: Homepath recommendation?

Helios Homeopathy in Covent Garden are fantastic. Also, to all the anti-homeopaths - Scott, Im looking at you- I dont understand why you care so much? If you do not believe in it, then that is absolutely fine, but why spend so much time and energy trying to dissuade people when apparently they are o...

Re: Anyone tried this nanny alternative?

I think it’s a great concept. Does anyone know which schools they pick up from? My concern is that it’ll only be ones in and around Chelsea We've got a place in their new Battersea/Clapham branch which is opening in September. They are going to the Chelsea one in the meantime which is fine too but ...

Re: A Level Tutor

Wow that is an insane amount of money. The maximum I have ever paid was 80 Pounds per hour but the chap was doing a PhD at Oxford! Incidentally, I found him through word of mouth or I would not have paid that much.

Re: Anyone tried this nanny alternative?

Cant see how this is better value than a Nanny if you have more than one child and need care after 5pm!! I don't really think you can compare this to a Nanny, as a Nanny offers completely different services?! But I guess it depends on how you want to structure the after school time for your child a...

Re: Anyone tried this nanny alternative?

Yes, I don't see how that is expensive? A good nanny is at least £1600, (I paid our old nanny £2400 net so I've saved myself some money) and she does not tutor or work on Saturday.

Re: Anyone tried this nanny alternative?

You really cannot compare this to an hourly nanny. They do not nanny at the Study house but provide tutoring for school, languages and music - similar to what's on offer in Asia. I only pay £949 per month because my kids are under 11 which is a real bargain given a good tutor will set you back anyth...

Re: Anyone tried this nanny alternative?

I think we were offered a place within a month - Not sure what they base their criteria on as I met a mother who did not know any current members before they applied.
