Re: Food waste collections for all in Wandsworth

To all you Neanderthals living in Wandsworth.   So you're finally getting food waste bins, which we've had in Lambeth for years.  They're both hygienic and fox-proof, & quite rightly will be mandatory.  If you choose to chuck them away, remember they're not your property - they're the property ...

Re: Daughter wants to dye dog

What a truly stupid (original) post.  Apart from anything else, it can be DANGEROUS to dye a dog - I'm surprised the woman and her daughter don't know that.  They should seek proper advice on the subject - from a vet, or from the Dogs Trust, or similar organisation.   -

Re: Advice on getting a puppy cocker spaniel ?

Local Happy Mum:  Why on earth are you thinking of getting a dog from a breeder?!!  There's any number of non 'show type' dogs in rescue centres looking for loving homes.  Do the right thing & get one of those instead.

Re: Dog attack on young children in Battersea Park

Couldn't agree more with Muddyboots.  These wretched XL bullies.  They should all be 'culled' (humanely of course) so that there are no more in the UK.  At all.  There's no other way around it.

Re: 3 muggings near Wandsworth Common this week

So awful to read this. I hope the children involved are ok.  One of the main drivers for these muggings seems to be the phones our children are using. Smartphones in particular. What if we just stopped giving children 'smart' phones to use and just gave them a regular phone for texts and messages? ...

Re: Crime due to LTN

Sandman:  Brilliant, brilliant post.  Everyone should read, and digest, it.  As for SUDS (rain gardens), of course we'll need heaps more before our neighbourhoods & homes are flooded - but don't hold your breath.  Remember this is Britain, where the authorities can't get anything right when it ...

Re: Crime due to LTN

ddJames:  You're absolutely right.  Those who moan about LTNs are generally those who selfishly own a vehicle, when they don't need to - doing 'school runs', popping round the corner to the shops, dropping someone off at the station etc.  They're now inconvenienced because they consider it's their ...

Re: please make cables running from houses to vehicles safe for pedestrians

Coffee Cake:  Yours is not a rant.  You have asked an excellent question relating to more & more of these annoying electric cables running across pavements.  Hope someone knowledgeable can answer it ...  I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting to know the answer.

Re: Where can I buy a tasteful font door wreath

Love Lipstick:  Whatever wreath you put on your front door, make sure it's inexpensive - because, pound to a penny, it will be nicked.  Every Xmas, wreaths go missing from front doors!

Re: Northcote Road quiet?

Dudette:   You often '.. pop over' to Northcote Road.  By car!!  and you wouldn't bother going there if there were nowhere to park!!   People like you are the problem.  Why don't you '...pop over' by bus, or by foot?  or train?  But doubt you've ever thought of that.

Re: Catcalling

Starr:  You’re “... not sure’.  Not sure about what?  Well, I AM sure that the 2018 Plan International Report revealed that one in three girls in the UK has been sexually harassed in public when wearing school uniform. If you don’t believe it, look it up.    They’re experts – you aren’t.  Of course...

Re: Catcalling

Starr:  I ’m sorry to say you are wrong.   The problem IS the uniform.   A report in 2018 by Plan International, the children’s charity, widely publicised at the time, reported that one in three girls in the UK has been sexually harassed in public when wearing school uniform – which included being ...
