Re: Heathrow hotel isolation - question for anyone who's been there.

I have not been in a hotel but I have spent the last 16 weeks in hospital. Admittedly there are tests, doctors, nurses etc but it is still 10/12 hours plus per day to kill. I have subscribed to Netflix and probably seen more TV /films than I have seen in the last 16 years, l play chess online and am...

Re: am i the only one in Clapham without hundreds of friends

If you are in business /entrepreneur there are several local groups l can introduce you to. Some are lady only and others are already meeting online so you can get to know people even before the crisis is over.

Re: cleaner refuses to wear mask

Surprised that you are even concerned about it.  Your house - your rules.  If l were you, the next time she arrives at the door, l'd offer her a fresh mask. If she refuses to wear it for the duration of her work, l would say, "Goodbye, l will contact you again once the crisis is over. Ciao.&quo...

I lived in Spain for 20 years. On the Med, La dolce Vita etc.....BUT both of us were working long hours and with regular travel across the country.  It very very quickly became clear that we could have guests staying with us 52 weeks of the year. Re: Christmas Shopping market on Northcote Road

I have "spoken" to Jonny today and explained that I am currently building a Small Business Virtual Exhibition. I fully understand the challenges that he and the Road are facing as, for many years, I hosted and organised large exhibitions. We can all only hope that the Market comes back big...

Re: Creating a will

I have lived in Spain for almost 20 years and I can confirm that if you have assets there you MUST speak to the professionals. I cannot speak for other countries but on the expat forums in Spain there are frequent threads about problems with wills. Generally because people have taken no professional...

Re: Student work or Stay at Home Mum Ad hoc

Really appreciate everyone's input. Thanks. I have experience all over London of these surveys and l would have thought three hours was a reasonable estimate and if that is so £13 per hour is usually OK. If anybody is interested and wants to confirm a rate per hour and estimate the time required, pl...

Re: Student work or Stay at Home Mum Ad hoc

I was surprised that nobody started. This small area is one of the few that I have not got covered!

If you are a student at home over Christmas, this might be a good way to make £40 and get some exercise.
