Could sewing be a fun activity?

With the lockdown, I plan on teaching my 6-year-old how to sew. It's an important skill that will help later in life and honestly, I want the time to pass as fast as possible and I'm looking for productive ways to make it go by easier. If any of you guys could help me pick a machine I'd be grateful....
