Re: Rough sleepers hub and hostel opposite Battersea Arts Centre, Lavender Hill

There is a nursery literally next door to this proposed facility . Putting these two vulnerable groups next to each other is a huge safeguarding issue. The fact the officials have glossed over this issue is of huge concern to people objecting. The site is simply unsuitable purely on this basis alone...

Re: Selling House - Estate Agent Fees

Ask for 1% on sale price , with a ratchet mechanism that if they sell for less than asking price then commission rate is cut but if they sell above asking then commission goes up to reward . You can band commission by sale price , ie every extra £100k over asking price the commission rises 25/50 bps...

Re: Did you mind if you didn't receive a gift for giving birth?

The response from Brokebird is rude / ridiculous. Clearly a joke response . #Ignore : # jealousy Bought my wife a “push present “ 1st time round a diamond and sapphire ring , and best decision we made . Had it personalised and hand made by a guy in Hatton garden ( not massively expensive as uncertif...

Re: Kitchen Side Return - has anyone used Simply Extend?

No reputable builders asks for a deposit upfront full stop - massive red flag - avoid. We’ve done two projects (1 currently ) and always pay in arrears . In fact 1st payment is normally 6-8 weeks into build . Agree milestones to make payments and never pay upfront for a large project such as you are...

Re: What's Happened to Orchestrate on Webbs Road - has it gone?

Rebrand / refresh - new name is Bloom.

Heard it had grown a lot but wasn’t necessarily getting enough work. So I think it’s just a slimmer company and new refresh start.

I actually bumped into the owner on Webb’s and had a chat. Nice chap.

Re: air quality index at 10!

Unless they’ve got a local sensor on my road, which they don’t then it’s not much use to me. Pollution differs greatly road by road . On another note the Google owned empire of data continues … google bought Breezometer the provider of pollution data to Apple weather app. Pretty cool company actually

Re: Nails and screws left in road by messy selfish builders

Odd post . Maybe you are parking in front of building sites too much . Never been an issue I’ve encountered or heard of before in this area.

Re: PROBLEM WITH SLUGS IN KITCHEN

You’ve probably got a bigger damp / moisture problem behind there , as snails love a damp area and stick around telling their friends to come visit! I’d somehow get access behind the units and I’m sure the problem will become apparent . Once you sort the damp the snails will be gone

Re: Should I pay school fees upfront - is there a benefit?

No . See answer below from a tax expert on this very topic ! When does VAT fall due on a transaction? For a supply of education, the point at which VAT falls due will usually be the date that the school fees are paid. This is because the supplies are continuous in nature throughout the period of sch...

Re: If you can get into Honeywell would you spend the money on a private primary?

As a new parent at Honeywell , the downgrade was unexpected but it was only the junior school not infant (reception ) . Unlike others it is spilt and the infant remains outstanding. We had a place at A a Private school but so glad we chose State as she’s happy as anything and doing so well, and so m...
