Can anyone recommend a good brunch venue? I have a regular brunch with a group of friends on a Sat we've tried Tamra on Northcote Rd, Meghan's on Bedford Hill. Love MILK but feels as tho I've come to collect a teen at weekends, are there any other venues for a good brunch that serve alcohol? Happy t...

Re: how to tell a friend who has been trying for a baby for ages I am pregnant

Congratulations! I think a phone call might be a good idea so that your friend can take in the news and deal it with privately but I would pop round to see her soon afterwards in person. I'm sure that she will be happy for you and would want to see you in person. Personally I don't think that a text...

Re: Friend gone mad at me over new man

I feel for you as I experienced something similar but pre marriage. I think that you are well within your rights to give your relationship a go. My advice would be to make sure that you have some things planned with your friend so that she knows she has something to look forward to with you. Maybe t...

Would you choose Let's Act or Stage Coach?

My eldest has decided that she wants to join acting school :-) I have done some research but would love to understand if Lets Act or Stage Coach would be more suitable for a 6 year old?

Travelling now, would you do it?

Having the debate that I am sure many families are having just now about holidays. My husband is not in favour. Thinks it is all too stressful and not at all safe. I would like to push ahead and get away. Is he right and I am being a bit blind about the risks? I would love to know what people are th...

Re: Only afford to send one to private school

I really wouldn't do this. Not sure how parents can treat their children so differently. I have cousins who suffered this situation, the sons went private and the daughter state. It's still a wind up for their parents at family events etc. To be fair, the siblings are fine with it but I think that i...

Re: husband won't not drink at home to help me give up alcohol

Thanks so much everyone for all of your helpful replies. I actually shared them with my husband and that has helped enormously. Mostly, I don't think he appreciated how much I wanted to get control of my drinking. He has now agreed to not drink at home for a while until I get to a place where I feel...

husband won't not drink at home to help me give up alcohol

I would like to know if I am being unreasonable by asking my husband to stop drinking in the house whilst I get myself into a better place in terms of alcohol. He did originally agree but two weeks in he is now having an evening beer and it is making really hard for me not to join him. He is general...

3 new restaurants on Northcote Road

Just spent a couple of hours on Northcote Road and there are 3 new restaurants. VE Kitchen, Bamia and Pizzeria Grapelli. There was another in the old GBK spot too but that didn't have a name that I could see.  Just wanted to post to let everyone know about them.

are au pairs still allowed to come to the UK?

Wondering if anyone can help me. We were planning to get our first au pair in time for the new school year but over coffee this morning a school mum friend told me that she didn't think it would be possible due to BREXIT. Is this true?
