Re: recommendation for a removal company?

I would give a bit shout for Trek Removals. Family company run by Ian - they are Zimbabweans who had to escape with nothing leaving their farm behind and have worked like maniacs to build up their business. They are truly the nicest people you will ever meet. We've used them 3/4 times and it feels l...

Re: Delaying Reception for Summer Borns

Hi I would like to second absolutely everything that ellesmum said. I have had exactly the same experience. My youngest is 5 in mid-August and I was really concerned about the obviously wide gap in maturity between him and the September/October children who are almost a year older. I investigated al...

Re: Builder recommendation for side return extension

Hi there I would like to recommend with my whole heart (!!) my builder, Rob Hilder of Focus Refurbishment. He is just about to complete a loft/side extn for me and I have used him on many projects on other houses over the last 8 years. The latest project has been, without doubt, the most awful exper...

Re: NSC reply to the Daily Mirror article

So pretty soon a myth might emerge regarding the choice of organisation to run the school - in the absence of an answer to the question. How exactly was the choice arrived at?

Re: NSC reply to the Daily Mirror article

No I don't envy his wealth. I simply question the motive behind the choice of ARK as provider - could the NSC explain exactly how the decision was reached? I wondered what things about the two finalists appealed/did not appeal to the committee and how exactly the vote was conducted. Calm down.

Re: NSC reply to the Daily Mirror article

Jon would you like to comment on how democratic (or not) the selection process was for the the organisation chosen to run the school? Interesting that the organisation chosen, ARK, is headed up by exactly the kind of individual you argue does not dominate the constituency for the school ie a 'fat ca...

Need a Window Cleaner

Hello! We are about to put our house on the market and I'd like to get all the windows cleaned first. Can anyone recommend a good, reliable and reasonably priced window cleaner? I've tried calling Steve Bridgemen who has advertised around the area for years and I'm sure I've used him a few times bef...

Re: Help required - computer meltdown????

Hi I have a truly fabulous guy who sorts mine out. He has a full time job and does this in his spare time (evenings/weekends). Having used a number of guys over the years I can honestly say Brian leaves them all for dead. He is endlessly helpful, is always at the end of the phone/text and is so clea...

WONDERFUL CLEANER/IRONER/NANNY

I have taken on a live-in au pair and as a result my wonderful part-time 'wonderwoman' Kasia is looking for work. She is Polish, 25, and is just wonderful to have in your home. She is a great cleaner and ironer, is really lovely with the children, and is a good cook. My boys are absolutely devastate...
