Re: Travelling now, would you do it?

So sorry to read about all  the stress you're going through.  Just this afternoon, there are leaks in the press that the red list may go so hopefully that will happen in time for your return https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/red-list-hotel-quarantine-uk-travel-restrictions-scrapped-grant-shapps-co...

Re: Travelling now, would you do it?

I'm writing from South Africa, where I'm "stuck" visiting my elderly parents. My story may help you decide whether to risk it or not  .. of course depending where you are travelling AND whether this Government is going to panic again without considering the science etc. If I want to return...

Re: Where to buy SECOND HAND CLOTHES AND EQUIPMENT for kids?

Hi there, I occasionally see things being given away for free on the Olio app, so that might be worth exploring in addition to all the other resources here :)

Re: HELP- hair falling out in clumps!

Sorry to hear of this stressful situation. As a couple of others have said, it's a really good idea to get checked out (blood tests etc.) first to check for any underlying issues such as a hypothyroid condition. As an example, I've been recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis & one of th...

Yes of course :) Good luck, great job you're doing!

Re: Children's book donations wanted

Would a copy of "The Little Prince" be of use? I don't have kids but have one or two books like this that might be useful...
And how about a (large) copy of the Chronicles or Narnia - all 7 of the books in one book?

Gill44 - I have a couple of old sheets (white) - perfectly clean & white, but the material is a bit thin in places - would these be of any use for you & your sewing team?

Re: Toots-1

The one I use has this ingredient list: "Ingredients: Petrolatum, Paraffinum Liquidium, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20. "   and the label says "contains Cetomacrogol" so that would be someting to look out for as well. I just googled " Cetomacrogol " ... you can get pro...

Toots-1

Hi there,  I had something similar sounding about 5 years ago (and it had been going on for a good 4-5 years, nothing I tried worked - naturopath, dermatologist etc.) - then in 2016 a dermatologist told me I had a severe reaction to the skin care products I was using (dermatitis). I had to ditch the...

Re: FOUND SOLID GOLD RING

This happened to me about 18 months ago, up near Baker Street - and at one stage, on Streetlife, there was a very active thread as people had been targeted in our more local area - yes it is a scam sadly! (And the ring is cheap tat.)

Re: Skype is becoming a hassle

Hi Petal, I sometimes had my mum doing that, after she got her first computer & Skype (aged 70!) - so now I keep Skype permanently on "Away" which gives me the chance to ignore calls if I'm busy/not in the mood. I also told my parents that if they called on weekdays I might not be able...

Re: CASTING FOR REALITY TV SHOW Desperate housewives of Batt

Loving all the banter - big smiles from SW17 where we're unfashionable :D

I'm sure it's a scam as it's a "yahoo" email & any casting company would use a genuine email...

Re: Not really a question, but something to be aware of...

Sadly this sort of scam has been going on for years - I had it happen to me (Tooting) about 6 or 7 years ago - late at night too. A lady (supposedly from no. 38) said her electricity had run out & her husband was working shifts so she couldn't leave her baby to go & draw money. My gut felt i...
