Re: Recommendation for Pedeatrition needed

Surely your GP will refer you to a hospital or community Paediatrician, if that is what they are recommending not expect you to find your own? :?

Re: what's the perfect age gap between siblings?

I was once told that the best gap was either less than 18 months (1st baby so young doesn't really remember life before next baby) or over 3 years (usually only new baby in nappies and older child can help out and may start nursery etc). We have a 16 month gap between our two....which was a bit of a...

Re: mirena coil - is it "shocking"?

I too had one fitted in the last 6 months. I was told by my GP to take 2 Ibuprofen 1 hour before having it fitted because it could be uncomfortable and I was likely to have stomach cramps after 'like period pain'. I found it very similar to a smear, with couple of cramps but had totally forgotten ab...

Re: Wandsworth Council to charge children to play in park

There was a reporter from Radio 5 live (I think they said) interviewing parents/carers in Battersea Park Playground today about this!

Obviously I gave my option....most people seemed to be saying the same...so I may be on the radio!

Re: Far reaching baby monitor

We have a BT 150 and 100. We got the 150 with 1st baby and found it to be great. It reaches into the neighbours house when we stay with the in-laws and into the garden at my sisters. Got the 100 for 2nd child which has also worked well. We had to fiddle about the sensitivity levels to start with but...

Re: 3 1/2 month old refusing bottle

Hi, My son was breastfed and started sleeping from 7pm-7am at about 4 months when he started sucking his fingers. I had always found the 10pm feed hard since he was always very sleepy (so hard to wake a sleeping baby when you are tired) and he always seemed unsettled after so I stopped waking him. I...

Re: Reliable and affordable movers4

We moved from Fulham to Battersea 2 years ago and used Bushells (based in Earlsfield). They are a family run business and were great. They packed and moved us and they also do storage. They were much cheaper than the other quotes and did a great job. We would definately use then again.

Re: Blackout window solutions - any ideas?

We used a black out blind with heavy dark curtains, which worked quite well for our 1st child. He is now 2 years and I want him to get used to some light so we just use the curtains. For the baby I also use the 'Gro anywhere blackout blind' (£30 from NCT shop) with curtains. This blind is very good...

Re: Nursery with longer than average hours

Yes, my son goes there. He has been there for 1 year for 2/3 days a week and our daughter will be starting there in the summer when I go back to work. We choose Bridge Lane because it was walking distance from our home, the staff seem happy and friendly and the children always seem to be enjoying th...
