Re: Any recommediations for double glazing windows? Other than Ayrton and PP Glass?

In the end we got these guys  https://awewindows.com/  to install PVC windows in the rooms overlooking the back garden. They met the timeline they promised (4 weeks) and did a very good job. I'd recommend them. We don't yet know what we'll be doing for the windows overlooking the main road, but we'r...

Re: Any recommediations for double glazing windows? Other than Ayrton and PP Glass?

Just to say I contacted Homesafe following the initial recommendation and they have just fitted two sets of patio doors, 2 bathroom windows and one bay window at the back of our house and I can endorse this recommendation. We have wanted to replace very aged aluminium double glazed windows for a whi...

Re: Any recommediations for double glazing windows? Other than Ayrton and PP Glass?

I am sure you mean well, but please, do bear in mind that your reply might come across as a bit entitled and out of touch - in general, I would refrain from rubbishing certain cheaper options so harshly, especially if those cheaper options may well be all someone can afford after all, you don't know...

Re: Any recommediations for double glazing windows? Other than Ayrton and PP Glass?

Firstly PVC is incredibly naff and will effect your sale price . The house I bought had PVC windows and was one of the reasons it sat on the market for so long . I used Aryton and although they are wood they are made in such a way that they don’t need painting for 15 years . I find you get why you p...

Try fjnashdg.co.uk

Ive only used them for replacing glass in existing frames, but they also do brand new frames. Used them twice over the last few years, happy both times with service, quality, and price.

Not sure if they do half pvc half wood though.

Re: Any recommediations for double glazing windows? Other than Ayrton and PP Glass?

Whatever you do, don't use Wandsworth Sash windows - my windows were all made wrong, drafts and they are falling apart after a few years of being installed

Re: Any recommediations for double glazing windows? Other than Ayrton and PP Glass?

Hi,

I was recommended Danny at Homesafe Gl (https://www.homesafegl.co.uk/) and was happy with the service. I had a minor issue with one of the windows a few months after installation and he came out straightaway to fix it (no excuses, delays, etc).

All the best,

Sam

Any recommediations for double glazing windows? Other than Ayrton and PP Glass?

We will need to have some double glazed windows replaced. What local shops would you recommend? We know of Ayrton and PP Glass and are looking for a few more. Nothing wrong with them - it's just that Ayrton does wooden windows only, whereas PP does wooden and PVC. We haven't ...

Re: Looking for a good joiner to do a front door

You mean you don’t fancy paying £6000 for a front door ? We also approached Ayrton who quoted close to £8000! I ended up having my builder do it for around £3000- doors aren’t cheap . Ironically they are installing it this minute. When it is finished and if I’m ...

Re: Heaver estate windows

Hi Vhopful
It really depends on which Road you are moving to and the design of the original windows. We have helped quite a few customers through the planning process on the Heaver and be very happy to advise and give you some ideas on pricing.

Re: French Doors Replacement

Try Ayrton Windows in Earlsfield. They get quite a few recommendations on this site. Alternatively try one of the bespoke carpentry companies?
