... work. Wood sawing for example, I imagine it would be ok for me to saw some planks in my garden on a Sunday but not ok to hire professional builders to do it. As a side note, how long does it take to build a shed? I would have assumed that they would be done after 1-2 weekends.

We are having a loft and side return at the moment. We were quoted c£270k plus vat by several builders. Then you have to pay for new kitchens and bathrooms etc. for us it’s about £450k all in.
