Re: D12 fire safety policy

If your just replacing windows like for like , no need for any planning requirements ( unless you are in a conservation area and different stricter rules on style et. ). You must be doing other development work to the flat which requires planning ? Otherwise zero need to involve the planning officers

Re: Crossrail 2 and buying houses in Clapham?

Project was put on hold back in March due to lack of funding and the TFL finance crisis . Even if it did get resurrected , it could take another 5-10yrs before construction even started and then another 5-7yrs of construction . So best case you can sleep easy for another 15 yrs+. The safeguarded rou...

Re: Air source heat pump

Don’t do it . Your house won’t nearly be insulated enough for it to work and will leave you cold and out of pocket . They only work with modern insulated houses .. the technology isn’t there yet. Have a look on the daily Mail article “ We claimed £70,000 in grants for a heat pump - but it still save...

Re: do most mums get gifts for giving birth?

I can confirm this is a thing and common . I was the purchaser and the ring I had designed so snuggly fitted with the other rings. Doesn’t have to be jewellery , could be anything . Going through pregnancy and child birth is not easy , a small gift shows you appreciate it all . Of course the wee bab...

Re: Think twice about buying from the London Door company - any purchases before 2017 have no 10yr Warranty now.

Yeah I had a look on companies house , seems you are right . this PE funded group, BHID group , bought the assets, IP and trade via a new company in 2017 - not clear if a pre-pack but seems like it might have been and if so the liabilities remained with the old company . Shame for you , sorry . Some...

Re: Think twice about buying from the London Door company - any purchases before 2017 have no 10yr Warranty now.

Unless they went bust or did a pre-pack the warranty should remain valid even if the limited company is sold to a new owner . The new owner agrees in a sale to take on the liabilities of the company - warranties included - exceptions being administration when the warranties die with the bust company...

Re: Where to get a secure front door? European homologated steel doors or cheaper alternatives?

Unless you are a drug dealer or member of the Italian mafia , why do you even need a high security steel door again ? You don’t ! Just use a Victorian door that. 99.5% of London use and get Banham locks for £500 .. Job done . Just don’t use the London door company , they will charge you £3-5k for a ...

Re: my friends want to use my address to apply primary school of her son

This is fraud , pure and simple and councils have investigations teams now for this exact reason . If you want to be party to the fraud , that is your decision. Personally I think it’s very selfish of your friend to put that request to you and that burden on your friendship . School catchments are s...

Re: IVF With ICSI, which hospital is best ?

Don’t go to Chelwest , as they have a mountain of a backlog list to clear . We just ditched them having waited 6 months as all the ivf staff were allocated to other parts of the NHS hospital . We jumped ship to lister and has been very quick , just started the protocol there . Chelwest did call us r...

Re: Buying a property on the Crossrail 2 safeguarded route

crossrail 2 is underground through Clapham / Johns Hill. You won’t even know it there as 80ms down and it won’t be built for another 20-30yrs as currently unfunded and unapproved . They continue to debate the route due to ground conditions at tooting and are seriously looking at sending it via Balha...
