Re: Northcote Gardens

hello there. my son has been going since the first week, and loves it. he was 2 1/2 when he started so has only been in the main nursery, not the younger rooms, so I can only comment on that, but the staff are great, very loving and kind but firm when needs be. Because the nursery is new it is reall...

Re: Bad smell in the playground?

can't help but agree with you, it is pretty disgusting now the weather is hot. my son loves running round the tree, playing hide & seek etc but I have to tell him not to go near it at the moment. i've seen children who've been caught short going near the railings on the road side, which seems li...

Re: Belleville expansion plans

herogirl, I think we would probably agree on a few things. The system of schooling provision is deeply flawed. We need more good schools - and perhaps we need means-testing as well? There was also a boom in births from 2001-2008, so the system is being severely tested now. The Conservative council a...

Re: Belleville expansion plans

herogirl, please do complain about people renting short term, I already have, it's immoral if not directly fraudulent - the law is somewhat confused about this matter unfortunately. I am however confused that you think it is the right thing to do to offer MORE choice to people who already have a cho...

Re: Feedback on Rainbow Village Nursery (ASDA)?

I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole. I certainly wouldn't leave a child there. You should look at the reports on this place on the Ofsted website - the latest report is here http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/oxcare_reports/display/(id)/275935 They have had endless inspections and notices to improve, which y...

Re: Fab service for Mums!!!!

Hi there - I joined NVN a while back (longer than my date suggests, I had to reregister because I couldn't find any of my login details) and used London HandyTeam a couple of months ago and would endorse all that's been said above, and haven't been asked to do so! The man who came to me from LHT was...

Re: Sandpit at the playground

Hi there - you should call Lambeth parks services - the number is on the notice board outside the playground.

Re: Mouse House - Mallinson Road - would you recommend it?

I would definitely recommend Mousehouse (Mousehole is the first year, age 2-3, Mousehouse starts from 3). My son goes and loves it. It is very popular so you need to put your child's name down asap, although you can usually get an afternoon place. It gets outstanding Ofsted reports, is a great Monte...

Re: Council elections - how to vote

hi there about the secondary school campaign, I've spoken to local Conservative councillors, met with Michael Gove when he visited the Bolingbroke site a few weeks ago and have also spoken with the council leader and chair of the education committee. From this research I understand that Edward Liste...

Re: friend wants to use my address for primary school admission

funnygirl - the point is that the friend DOESN'T intend to move into the property, just use it as a front address in order to try and secure a place - which IS fraudulent. and in answer to your question about whether the rest of us would do it, Belleville school is my nearest one, but on current cat...

Re: friend wants to use my address for primary school admission

oh and what happens if when you return and want your children to go to that school, they can't get in - because your friend's younger children will be admitted as siblings regardless of where they live and take up places for those living nearer to the school?!

Re: friend wants to use my address for primary school admission

I don't know if you could get into trouble, but your friend could. it's called fraud. From your point of view, it's an entirely unethical thing to do. but I think you know that already.
