Re: Anyone ever sand and seal the pine flooring under the ca

Way back my husband did ours - hired the equipment for 72 hours and worked like a demon to sand, stain etc AND make the mix to fill the gaps between the boards. I mention the gaps because they're the bits that after 4/5 years desperately needed re-doing (no matter how good a job you do they still dr...

Re: Francis Holland head says "you can't have it all"

Ok, I'm also probably about to regret jumping in here but..... What exactly is "having it all"??!!! Surely the whole thing is entirely subjective and we all need to accept that we all make different choices for different reasons and what REALLY needs to happen is that we shouldn't be made ...

Re: Cabin bed from sleepland beds? If not what?

Just in case anyone else ever searches this again - don't do it. Stompa's designs may be a little too mod but the distributors think they're the best for a reason. We ended up buying top of the range Sleepland and even then would never ever recommend them (beds falling apart less than x2 months late...

Re: C-Section or Natural?

SO, as I'm sure you're realising there is no definitive answer because none of us could ever predict (mystic Mog/Meg/whoever included!) how things for you will definitively turn out. I note your references to physical 'ability'.... I have x2 other female siblings.... Let's just say that in general i...

Re: Wd you let yr 2-3 yo go on a coach with a lap-only seatb

I am really surprised the nursery isn't using a coach with proper standard seatbelts, especially with such young children - and the majority of parents are happy to go along with this? It's not like there aren't coaches that have them. The nursery we're at uses coaches with proper seatbelts & if...

Cabin bed from sleepland beds? If not what?

Hi all, has anyone out there ever bought a cabin bed from Sleepland beds? I'm looking at this one but starting to worry it's too good to be true http://www.sleeplandbeds.co.uk/chester-childrens-midsleeper-beds ? Should I be sticking with something from Aspace?! Any help/guidance/suggestions apprecia...

Re: More changes on Northcote Road.

SO, I haven't been BTC for 30 years but near on 20 (coming in my late teens.....oh the days when a terrace on Mallinson cost £300k!!). I'm certainly not complaining re the benefit I have had in terms of property price increases but do agree with the sentiment that the 'quality' of shops on Northcote...

Re: Big Fat Panda turning into PUB planning application

You know what, when I bought my first property BTC just off Battersea Rise (1999), the area wasn't nappy valley -on the whole it was very much a (young!) twenty some-things location and there sure as heck wasn't the level of anti social behaviour there is now. Seriously, when your door is urinated a...

Birthday present debate...

Ok, so to be honest I'm not sure what the fuss is about re the link below......class parents have been asked if, rather than take a 'normal' gift to a child's birthday party they instead donate an amount of their choice towards a voucher so the child can get something they really want. When my son w...

Re: www.savewandsworthcommon.com

Agree that position of the works on the Common would be better not on the playground but seriously where else in the borough would be suitable for them to put this works site? You'd prefer them to demolish a couple of streets to do it?!
