Heaver Estate

This evening by chance we passed by Hilbury Road / Mandville Road and we noticed that almost every house on Mandville Road has a "name plaque". I googled for more information but I really couldn't find anything.Anyone local knows the history of the area? :)

Re: Bertie & Boo Northcote Road Closing this weekend

Bertie & Boo; What about Southside shopping centre and surrounding area? Plenty of good size empty shops. When Gymboree was in Southside (long time ago) it was very popular.

Re: State Secondary Schools - are they good?

Both of my daughter's best friends moved away before she finished her primary education at Swaffield Primary school, which is two form entry, the same as Alfarthing and Floreat. It was bigger as we, (I'm Vice-Chair of Governors), agreed to take an extra form for the period where there was a bit of ...

Re: State Secondary Schools - are they good?

SouthLondonDaddy, as I replied to Mochi I feel that it comes down to personal experience as kids are different and families are different. There are plenty of good Primary and Secondary Schools in the area so there is no need to move.

Re: State Secondary Schools - are they good?

My child went to an "oversubscribed" primary school in Earlsfield and I can tell you that it comes down to personal experience and not Ofstead reports or other parents opinions. Our experience at primary was average at best.Your child grows and teachers are different every year so one year...

Re: Opinions wanted - 12 yr old commuting alone w/ headphones on

My son walks 45 min. to get to school. He is 13 ,I walk half way with him.No headphones and the phone is used only to call us to let us know that he has arrived/ is leaving school. To answer your question; take the headphones away.He may hear with them on (not fully) but it is a distraction nonetheless.

Re: Family Lawyer - experienced with Italian Law

Please all don’t be so offensive. I was offering sincere advice. You windmill and super girl may sneer at my suggestion from the comfort of a spa room in the basement of your Wandsworth palace. But you don’t have a better suggestion. Do you? Just go on a tangent. This is a real person with a real p...

I don't think Boris is on Nappyvalley 😂
If you really want to congratulate him you should do so directly.
Meanwhile I just keep my fingers crossed that his tenure as a Prime Minister won't last long!
