Re: Postnatal midwife care

Not sure what your budget is but have you considered a postnatal doula? Not as expensive and very practical.

Re: Balham High Road Shops may Disappear!

Landlords can't not renew leases unless the tenant has not complied with contract or unless the landlord is taking possession of the property. They usually therefore try and raise the rent so much that businesses can't afford it. It is really worth those businesses fighting it - they have more right...

Re: Does your pharmacy charge you.....

The charges for a debit card are per transaction (credit card is a percentage). For a small business it's about 20p per transaction. That might not seem very much but if you're only spending £8 that's 2.5% which if you are on tight margins means a lot. Supermarkets will be paying nowhere near that a...

Re: Does your pharmacy charge you.....

Most shops have a minimum amount as the banks charges are extortionate - especially for smaller businesses.

Re: Online Petition for Proposed New Girls Senior School

The more I think about this the crosser I get. What is the biggest problem facing London at the moment - a shortage of exclusive private school places or a shortage of affordable housing? I may not agree with a lot that Wandsworth Council does but I'm with them on this one. 25 afforadable homes or 1...

Re: Online Petition for Proposed New Girls Senior School

I do support the need for a new secondary school in the area - the knock on effect of not enough primary school places will soon be seen in secondary schools. I'm not sure how an exclusive expensive girls' secondary school is going to alleviate this problem though. The type of people who will go to ...

Re: Home tuition advice? Social Communication disorder

Have you considered state school? The school that my children go to have amazing inclusion - there are many children on the autistic spectrum and others with a myriad of learning difficulties. A state school with good inclusion really understands how to deal with children who struggle because of lea...

Re: How to get pregnant?

You can get ovulation sticks online for not very much. I used these (I had a feeling when I was ovulating and these confirmed it for me). Worked for me every time. Good luck!

I went to a great party at the weekend at the Draft House on Battersea Bridge Road. Private room with a bar and dancefloor. We were dancing until 1am.

Re: transition from formula to milk issues...

Two of my children have never liked cows milk and so once I stopped breastfeeding them they stopped drinking milk (and this was younger than 3). They eat yoghurt and cheese and have milk in cereals etc. I don't think it's a problem not drinking milk as long as they have a balanced diet.

Re: New NICE guidelines regards home birth

NHS midwives are great too! I had two home births with NHS midwives and they were fantastic. For uncomplicated births home is an amazing place to give birth.

Re: Claridge's asks breastfeeding mother to cover up

But it's actually less discreet with the enormous napkin. I can't bear this thing about covering up feeding your baby - it is a natural thing to do. And my Mum thinks it's much better these days. She was in the minority breast feeding and she spent many a time sitting in a toilet on her own. I wonde...

Home Halo - Parental Control System for internet access

I was told about this by a friend of mine. Described as "Powerful yet easy to manage home networking which we've placed in the palm of your hand. Different rules for each family member." It's on Kickstarter at the moment and looking for backers so that it can go into production mode. It lo...
