Re: Princess Yaiza - Recommendations?

We stayed in what I think they call a suite in the main hotel - one large bedroom with enormous bed and a lounge with 2 sofa beds and a small table, coffee table, tv, a balcony with sun loungers and a small kitchenette area (fridge, microwave, sink). We had a 4 year old and baby and it worked really...

Steam and rye

Has anyone been to steam and rye in the city? I'm curious to know what the crowd is like, particularly on a weekend. Would a bunch of nearly 40 year olds be too old?? Is it smart??

Re: Lawyers on Demand

I'm also interested in LOD. I am currently in house with a major bank and am weighing up part time in house (previously been full time and before that worked magic circle in banking) versus LOD or similar. I have two (male) friends who have recently joined LOD and are v positive so far. One has a co...

Re: Painless bikini wax?

I also went to the waxing specialist on the back of this thread and Marta was amazing. I've been having waxing for years and this was the most professional by far. The lycon wax really does make a difference. I thought I had to just out up with excruciating waxing but not anymore!

Re: Non-invasive Down's syndrome diagnostics test privately

Most people have heard of the Harmony test but it is worth asking about the Panorama test. I had this done last year. It is apparently even more accurate and also covers a few more issues than Harmony. I think it is basically an extension of the Harmony test. I went to the Birth Company, just upstai...

Re: Loft Conversion Companies - any great experiences in las

We had a great experience last year using Premier Lofts. They don't advertise as they don't need to and the owner (Malcolm) is directly involved in every project. I think the key is that they haven't become too big. I was probably a nightmare client as I was pregnant with no 3 and hugely stressed. T...

Re: Babysitter or Nanny?

Not a stupid question. Many babysitters are nannies who want to top up their hours if not working full time for their main family. I think your options are - use an agency eg likeminders, sitters to make a regular booking but then you may not get the same person and you are paying their booking rate...

Re: Recommendations for Speech Therapist near SW19

My son has speech and hearing problems due to cranio facial problems. He sees a speech therapist on nhs but after discussing with a friend I was going to try kiki's clinic on thurleigh road. I have heard really good things about it and I think it has been previously recommended on here. They are exc...

Re: Spanx or similar for 7 months pregnant dress?

I used maternity Spanx at 7 months pregnant under a clingy dress. They did the trick and were definitely worth the money!

May half term - looking for inspiration

I'm looking for recommendations for truly family friendly places to go for the end of May half term. Our wish list is - warm and sunny - within Europe - ideally self catering but with 'hotel' facilities ie restaurants, pools, play area. - sandy beaches - pools on site. We have been to martinhal twic...

Re: Present for neighbour after building work

Case/bottles of wine? Flowers? Voucher for dinner out. Small tree eg bay, olive/ lavender for their garden. Hamper of goodies eg carluccio's. Depends obviously on your budget. I'd have thought any of those would be enough of a gesture!

Anyone need a GLTC play shop/theatre as last minute present?

In a last minute change of heart I ordered a play shop front/theatre from Gltc last night - except I ordered the pink one by accident, then reordered the white one which I actually wanted, both of which were already picked and packed when I called to sort out the duplicate order this morning. I then...

Re: Fitting 3 car seats on back seat

Another vote for the xc90! We had the same dilemma when we were having our third baby. Husband is not a car fanatic but equally he really didn't want to swap our Audi q3 for MPV. Six months in and we love the Volvo, I drive it all the time round here and it's really fine. Parking took a bit of pract...

Re: Maternity/nursing bras

Through 3 pregnancies and breastfeeding, the only decent underwired nursing bra I found was by Anita (and there was only one style for a 32J). Amelie's follies on webbs rd sell them. Bravissimo/m&s/John Lewis/ were useless for underwired nursing in bigger sizes. There are quite a few on line sho...
