Re: PLEASE everyone, tweet your MP and ask for a meaningful vote.

GuyD73 I'm appalled at the wording in your post and you've done yourself no good.
The decision has been made to leave and it will happen.

EIRE is not at all offensive and used frequently by the Irish. Just go to the Cork and Dublin airports and you will see signs in there!

Re: More living space? Garden-shed bedrooms are legal now in Wandsworth.

This is just a joke! I still think people are being 'paid off' in the council. We too have an issues with a neighbour who has built a horrendous building at the back of their garden. They needed no planning despite it being the size of a two bedroom flat. They have no communicated anything with neig...

Re: NHS hospitals allow elective c-sections?

All hospitals must allow a choice. Whilst C&W discourage they cannot stop you requesting and having one. They do have a private wing which will take priority as to where their top guys and girls are but there should be further options to allow your wish to go forward. Rather than argue the case ...

Re: Bifolds dilemma/ escalating costs!

Looking at the space that you have it will be too squashed, your neighbours looked squashed.
I would suggest looking at alternatives.
Bifold doors are not going out of fashion and why many top architects plan them in.
Crittal are nice but you need a huge space for them to work.

Re: Advice from people with nannies about nursery/pre-school

Little Starlings is wonderful start to nursery life, they take a very gentle approach and the two hour sessions work well - we were VERY happy there. We moved to a nursery that does full morning sessions and follows more of a curriculum and whilst we've had a nanny I do think that nursery gives them...

Re: Garden co. wanted to overhaul small front garden

I'd like to recommend Sam from 'Shape Landscapes' he's local and very competitive and can be contacted on 07868162670.
He did our landscaping, drive, fences and patio area. I would obtain a quote from him as he was much less than the company mentioned above and did a great job.

Re: Giving up buying BTC - What about Balham?

Balham, rough?!! I must have missed that period! If you are thinking if Balham then I would move soon as house prices are rising each month. You will find that the area is full of pretty cool parents who want to be away from the stereo typical NV area of bankers and such. Many media types live in th...

I'd like to recommend Camilla who works from both home which is just off Trinity Road and Neal's Yard.
Camilla specialises in acupuncture and fertility so there is nothing she doesn't know or hasn't done.
Such a lovely lady too.

Re: Help: builders have created a hobbit hole

It's down to your architect and builders to sort this out. They clearly have not crossed checked the measurements. Get everything together and speak to a property lawyer who will be able to advise how to proceed. A simple emails or a letter from them should rectify the issue. If you have signed a co...

Re: How to deal with non compliant party wall work

Ignore the above post who are clearly plugging their own services!!! The surveyor is responsible to sort this out. They act for both of you and must adhere to the laws set out. Have you looked through your contract? I would also suggest a call to a property lawyer who will advice on how to proceed. ...

Re: Under floor heating

We have underfloor heating throughout the whole house. Under engineered wood, slate tiles and carpet upstairs. The house is so warm, we didn't even have to use the heating until December and it stays a constant throughout. If it is fitted correctly you won't need any radiators as it will do an effec...
