5 failsafe swimwear wins to know about this season from Amelies Follies

Postby Annabel (admin) » Fri May 13, 2022 12:09 pm

Thankfully, last year’s uncertainty about summer hols abroad is fast becoming a distant memory with many of you planning on heading for guaranteed sun over May half term and even more of you heading for sun, sun, sun this summer.

It is also great to hear our lovely Amélie's Follies customers talking excitedly about those much delayed & rescheduled breaks, be it a girls' weekend in Ibiza or a romantic break to Italy to celebrate a big birthday.

Holidays are finally happening

There's lots of newness and trends out there and it can be confusing, so here are our top tips and our edit of 5 failsafe, on-trend colours for an instant update.

‘Our top tip is, if you’ve booked a holiday take a good hard look at your swimwear NOW to spare any last-minute panics or nasty surprises.’

What are the key colours for Summer 2022?

Emerald green is one of the must have colours this Spring/Summer. This is the colour of the season whether it’s on its own or integrated into a print. It is a fabulous colour to wear and suits most people.  There is bound to be an emerald option that plays to your best features.

Khaki, sage, army and olive green hues are wonderfully soft and flattering. Staying with green this summer, the other key colour story is the subtle army, khaki, sage and olive hues – wonderfully soft and flattering colours which particularly compliment blondes. If you have been shopping recently you will have noticed that this colour story is everywhere from dresses to shirts, shoes to beachwear.

I wish this shop would stop being appointment only and compulsory mask wearing - I'd love to just simply pop in to have a browse and not wear a mask. Respect it is up to the shop as to their rules, and clearly business mustn't be impacted, but it's a shame as I'd like to shop local without the pressure.

Dear Charlotteweb,
we are no longer asking customers to wear a face mask, unless they want to. Our service is very hands on, and we can be in quite close contact to our customers as you know if you have ever shopped with us. Our staff is choosing to keep on wearing their face mask as they can interact with a wide number a customers every day, as well as having vulnerable family members. We also interact with customers who are undergoing cancer treatment and other immonusuppressant treatments. We wish for ALL our customers to feel safe in store. We are keeping the By appointment only as a lot of women feel more comfortable trying on swimwear and lingerie when there are not a lot of other shoppers in store. It is the same for customers who need to discuss health conditions or are medically vulnerable. If you choose to visit without an appointment, and we happen to be free, we will let you in, but customers with appointment will have priority. You book an appointment to have your hair done? to get a mani/pedi? why not to look after your breasts?
