Battersea Rise - Changes?

Postby juliantenniscoach » Wed Jun 11, 2014 9:51 pm

So Cattle Grid has gone to be replaced by Cote De Brasserie which sounds like a Cafe Rouge type chain to me.............but I could be wrong. Also Strada which my girls love is closed. Anyone know what the story is there?

There was a Zizzi over a decade ago where the Cattle Grid was. Didn't survive for long.

I really rate Cote. They're a good chain serving really decent food.

Cattle Grid in Balham seems to be thriving, guess there's too much competition on Battersea Rise

I thought Cattle Grid was dreadful. Poor food and poor service. Have you spotted that a new French restaurant called Sinabro is opening on the opposite side of the street? Looks a bit more ambitious/nicely designed than many of the other places, so I am looking forward to trying it.

I always laugh when I see the queues at Breakfast Club. Life is surely too short to wait for half an hour for badly cooked bacon and eggs.

Cornish Tiger is another newish place - not sure about it. Looks nice, but I'm not convinced by the menu or the service. Maybe need to give it another chance.

I also really rate Entree and Soif. More grown up than most.

Great to read about these new openings. We have a Côte Brasserie near work and it is good food at decent prices. They play the French angle pretty well (I am French !)

So of course delighted to hear about a nice near French restaurant on Battersea rise. This press release is already making me want to go...

Opens on June 16 apparently

Cornish Tiger, up from Breakfast Club, is really good and always empty. DH can't understand why people quere for BC when it's so chilled at CT.

I've just heard of the French place (Sinabro) opening and have already booked (50% off on the first two days!) on the second day, as the first day is fully booked.
I'll also be trying out Cornish Tiger very soon as I've heard excellent things about it. Hopefully things are looking up on Battersea Rise!

I'd love to see Cornish tiger work but having been once, I'm just not convinced by the menu. The fusion desserts were a bit too bizarre for our group's liking, trying too hard maybe?

Such a shame about strada.

Another vote for Cornish tiger! Some friends booked it for dinner a few nights ago and it was really lovely!

I can completely agree with the recommendations for Cornish Tiger. Sunday lunch there is really good - hope they can make it, as so many others on that spot have struggled.

I heard on the grape vine that Strada was just closing for a refurb - so may not be gone, but have to say my husband would be happier with a microbrewery on our doorstep ;)
