Guests and Old Alleynians (former pupils of Dulwich College), gathered recently in the Archives for the launch of their new exhibition, The Thrill of It All: Music and Revolution at Dulwich College 1968–1978. The exhibition traces the spirit of revolution during this period and the bands that emerged from the era, members of whom went on to stardom.  Contributors and band members gathered to open the exhibition, which unveils Dulwich College’s iconic ties to rock legends including David Bowie, Roxy Music, and Robert Wyatt.

The exhibits trace the social and political changes at the College that created the environment for rock music to flourish. The exhibition includes original stage costumes from Roxy Music and the original Hofner Galaxie guitar, purchased by Phil Manzanera, guitarist with Roxy Music, when he was just 10 years old!

Members of the public are warmly welcomed to visit the free exhibition - but appointments and bookings must be made in advance as dates are limited in February and March. For availability on individual tours please contact archives@dulwich.org.uk The exhibition will be open until Thursday 27 March 2025.

Phil Manzanera and Bill MacCormick, author, producer and bass player with Quiet Sun, will return to give an ‘In Conversation with…’ on Tuesday 11 March, more details can be found on the College’s What’s On page In Conversation with Phil Manzanera and Bill MacCormick | Whats On Post - Dulwich College.
