Spanish speaking playgroup?

Postby mfontenit » Wed Feb 02, 2011 9:44 am

Hi, I have a 6 month old baby and am looking for a spanish playgroup so that he can meet other spanish speakers. Does any one know of a spanish playgroup in SW london ideally around Wandsworth or Clapham Common? Or is anyone keen to start one with me?

Any help would be much appreciated! I never thought that it would be so hard in such a cosmopolitan place like London!

Hola,

Hay una guarderia que se llama 'anglo-spanish day nursery' en Clapham Manor Street SW4. Esta al lado del restaurant 'El rincon latino'.

Espero que te sirva la informacion.

Hi

Just wondered if you have got any further looking for a spanish playgroup? I used to speak Spanish (!!!) as I lived in Madrid but I haven't spoken spanish much for 6 years and so I've lost a lot of my vocab etc. I've put my son's name for the Anglo-spanish nursery but i'd also like to be part of a group if there is one around ... if not I'd be happy to set one up if anyone is interested?

Dani

HI Dani and others,

I was able to form my own Spanish playgroup since one didn't exist before - we already had our first meeting last week and are meeting up again today at one of the lady's houses.

I am sure they would be happy to have someone else join us with their baby.

Hello,

Just found your post and was wondering if this group is still going? I have an 8 month old whose dad is mexican. We live in Stockwell and are keen to find spanish playgroups in the area.

Kate.

Hola!

I live in Clapham and would be interested in finding a spanish speaking playgroup. I am spanish and my daughter is 7 months old. I've noticed that there haven't been any more posts for a while but I am hoping that maybe someone wants to meet up or share their playgroups.

Saludos,

Hola fishycoast and Mary,

I have a 5 month old little girl and would also love to join a spanish speaking playgroup or meet up. I speak spanish but it is getting rusty due to the lack of practice and i would love my daughter to speak it when she grows up.

Hasta pronto!

Hola, I have a 9 month old daughter and also have very rusty Spanish. It would be lovely to have a playgroup. There is a Friday class called vamos a cantar at St Lukes but I felt my baby was just a bit too young to enjoy it but perhaps it could help. If anyone is up for forming a playgroup please loop us in.
Gracias

I would like to do a free group once a week in Clapham. The playgroup welcomes native Spanish and non-Spanish speaking parents - who are fluent in the language or have a little Spanish knowledge. The objective of the group, is to encourage our children learn about the Spanish language, and have the opportunity to meet new friends!
Join our story time, picnics, visits to the museums, and walks in the park.
I am from Spain and I am nanny here.

Hi there,

It looks like there's quite a bit of interest in the Spanish playgroup. Has anyone arranged anything? I am back to work now but can meet on Fridays in the afternoon in Clapham. Is anyone up for it? any suggestions?

Hola Mamas del nappy valley ! ITS COMING!!!!!
At Arcoiris playgroup we offer a great opportunity to guide children through a range of learning activities including songs, stories, show and tell, snack-time, games, role-plays, fine and gross-motor coordination development and more.
Each session follows an age-appropriate pattern that children can quickly relate to. For instance, a nursery-aged session may start with free play followed by sound and character recognition games, after which their learning is put into practice with some guided creativity tasks. After such intensive learning and development, the children then get the chance to relax with a snack followed by some quiet floor play time. Music and dance time starts next with everyone being thoroughly engaged in the sound and movement activities created by their trainers.

The program developed by Iris Rodriguez is designed for children and their carers; whether parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles or nannies, to come together and enjoy the experiences learning or improving the spanish.
We are happy to start the first bilingual playgroup in London .
As migrants, we would like to promote the diversities of south american :D culture for children and grown ups !
Please contact us for futher information .
