I’m so sorry your son is suffering with OCD. I’m in a similar position albeit my child is older. It’s an all encompassing illness and often misunderstood. OCD needs specialist psychological intervention. Not all clinical
Psychologists are skilled in this area. You may well have done this but have you had a CAMHS referral? We had mixed results through CAMHS and found a private practice. If cost isn’t a barrier I would highly recommend CHIPP London who have OCD specialists. Based SE London.
I hope you are finding the support you need too as we found it incredibly hard. Wishing you and your son the best.

What I want to say is that there is hope for a full recovery. I have been there with my then 9 year old son who was extremely bad. He couldn’t leave the house. It seemed medication was the only option. We were recommended Dr. Gazal Jones at Chipp London. She turned things around so fast with CBT and at 9 you’re lucky as they are young enough to recover quickly. My son is now an extremely confident 17 year old with no trace of the debilitating symptoms he had 8 years ago. Hard as it is, if you get on top of it now there is hope for a full recovery. Good luck.

That’s so reassuring, I really appreciate the advice. We have now gone private and my son will soon start his sessions.

So grateful and wonderful to hear your son recovered. Thank you again.
