Summer Vacation in Rome

Postby chris7540 » Sat Feb 01, 2025 8:00 am

Hi everyone! I'm planning a trip to Rome this summer with my little family, and we want to discover as many things as possible. I have a question: where to buy Borghese Gallery tickets? I've heard it's amazing and I'd really like to include it in our itinerary. Do you have any recommendations for other must-see sites in Rome? Thanks in advance! :D

If you are in Rome make sure you see the Pantheon - still the biggest free-standing concrete dome in the world dedicated to Pan Theos - all the Gods - oh how we could use that today - and the frescos from Livia’s villa - check them out online. Livia was the wife of Augustus and the most powerful woman (with the possible exception of Eve!) in history up to that point. In her private quarters she chose nothing to do with power, but exquisite rural scenes.

My top tip is regarding car hire.  If you are getting a car to explore around Rome, make sure you pay for the Express check in, whoever your provider.  It's chaotic at the airports in the summer and you can save yourself an hour's plus wait.
