Getting smoke alarms tested?

We have smoke alarms but I would love to get them tested to make sure that they are fit for purpose.

Is there anyone who does this?

Home Fire Safety Checker (HFSC) | London Fire Brigade

To test them you can press the test button
They should have an expiry date printed on them too
