Hi,
here is a short report from Sweden! Cold
? Well, actually today it looks like any ordinary London gray day and it is yet no snow and crisp but not cold. Yes, it can get pretty cold so you should be prepared, but I am afraid there is no snow guarantee in January. I keep my fingers crossed for you though, because the city is much more beautiful dressed in white. We lived several years in London with small kids, and used similar winter clothing in London as here in Stockholm. But we were also many times very surprised how little Londoners put on their young ones. I suggest you save your money and do not buy expensive super thick clothing, and instead use the multi-layered approach. With three or even four layers you can stand very cold weather. Make sure you bring decent gloves and hat.
Regarding activities for a two-year-old, I guess a local playground is the best start. There are plenty of them in Stockholm, and you can probably get good directions from the hotel. The museum "Junibacken" is great too, especially if your child has some experience of her stories, but it is worthwhile visiting anyhow. It is based on "Djurgården", a beautiful Island in central Stockholm, where it is a nice place for walks too. Another place not far from that Museum is "Skansen", the local Zoo. It is more than a Zoo, with quite a lot of cultural activities. Recommended, check it out at

Hope you get a great trip to Sweden!
Best wishes
