Playgroups for dads

Postby buttonqueen » Tue Dec 20, 2011 8:52 pm

I return to work in January and my husband will be looking after our baby. I just read today in The Sun (all the broadsheets were taken in the cafe, honest) about a playgroup in Wimbledon for dads which is a nice idea. Does anyone know if something similar exists in Battersea/ Clapham/ Balham?

what, somewhere I can mess around and play with the lads? fab! :D
seriously I have the good fortune to be self employed and have had a long of time to be 'housedad'. all the playgroups activities etc I went to with my little girls here were more than friendly.

there are other housedads around in the area so I think he'll be fine on the 'northcote road pram parade'. I never came across a 'male specific' group though.

There's one at Ascension Church on Malwood Rd Balham on a Saturday morning. I think it starts at 10am.

There is also a playgroup on Monday and Friday mornings in Wimbledon Park (just down from the tube station) called Dads and Little 'Uns - I cannot recommend it highly enough. It has been fantastic for my husband and everyone is really lovely there. Cory runs it and their website is http://www.dadsandlittluns.co.uk/ and his email is wimdads@gmail.com
Definitely give it a go!

Also recently went to a music class (cheeky champs) champeroons@gmail.com - which was brilliant and is pay as you go! At the BAC centre and there were quiet a few dads attending.
