New to Earlsfield!

Postby New to Earlsfield » Mon Jan 09, 2012 3:37 pm

Hi there

I moved to Earlsfield just before Xmas and am keen to meet some other mums/nannies. I am not working at the moment and have a two and a half year old daughter and other one due in May. Would appreciate any tips on where to go in the area.

Hope to get some responses!

Lucie

Hi Lucie,
there is loads to do in Earlsfield for mums and babies.
Its a Kids Thing on Magdalen across from Sainsbury's Local is great, they have loads of things on everyday so definitely worth a try (call to book a place just in case, they get full often).
The library has lots of free activities for children, rhyme time, story time, dad's rhyme time on Saturdays and every Friday during term time there is a free class called Boost for children over 2 years of age, it's great for running around indoors and learning about healthy eating.
Face Salon - has fabulous pregnancy massage available, was a godsend for me when I was pregnant with my 2nd one.
1 O'clock club on Garrat is open Mon-Fri 1.30-4 and they have nice facilities for children ages 0-5.
ProPhysio practice right behind Barclays Bank - has loads of pre and post natal classes, yoga and pilates and fitness training, highly recommend I did classes there after both of mine, and until your baby crawls babies are welcome too (so great when your toddler is at nursery).
If you have any specific questions don't hesitate.

......... Bee's knees in Battersea arts centre is an indoor play area (small tho)

The childrens theatre in Wimbledon has a play room and garden area which is free and open every day

Archbishop - Wateroo is a cool park

Wacky Warehouse _ Indoor soft play Colliers Wood

Beanies in Croydon is one of our all time favourites, indoor play room, bit like a classroom turn out but loads todo and loads of fun (no crazyness, no running)

Tooting Leisure centre has a swimming pool and a soft play bit

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head

Welcome to a wonderful part of London to be a mum! It might seem a bit early now but if you are thinking about schools for your little ones you might be interested in signing up to support a new state primary that we are trying to set up in your neighbourhood... http://www.sljps.org.uk/Register.html
