Moving out of London - Anyone know Marlow well?

Postby jojelly » Mon Mar 04, 2013 3:31 pm

Hi - is there anyone out there who has friends with young children in Marlow, around the Marlow Buckinghamshire area...or is going to live there? We are planning to move from SouthWest London to Marlow in the next few months and I am looking for recommendations for a private preschool and any insights into good schools and toddler/baby activities in the area. Everyone on this site knows how family friendly it is here and how lucky we are to have children activities on our doorstep! Our little one is so happy after a term at her preschool so really want to find somewhere that she can continue to be so happy as a foundation for school life. Also have a 1 year old so will be looking for fun things to do with him too! Thanks! :+)

Central Marlow or a certain small village near-by?

There are loads of things to do in that area plus there are oodles of fantastic independent schools. However, you probably want to know what is actually closest to you?!

The lifeafterlondon website is great, we have been using it to plan a move out of London.

I do know Marlow well as I grew up nearby. Anywhere within the catchment area of the Grammar School is v.expensive. There are some lovely villages but the train service is slow for commuting unless you get on the fast line into Paddington.

Good luck :)
