It was a great class and very practical.

Thanks Charlie for the learning and the other mums for coming along.

I must also mention staff at Eat Play and Love, they were great and let us use the cafe as our shooting location; we stayed for 3hours trying to take pictures for the assignments Charlie asked us to do. And we managed all this with two toddlers around!!

We are planning a meet-up to share photos and tips so if you want to be part of it, PM your contacts.

Have a lovely week.

Some of the tips we learnt from Charlie are in this blog post - Clapham photo club meets for the first time - together with some photos I took during the session.

Every tip helps and especially being able to practice as a group makes it easier I find.

I am looking forward to our next meet up. If you want to join send me your details. We talked about organising a date in April.

I'd be keen to join again and do another photo lesson in a month or two, perhaps Fri 26th April if you were meeting then, or the Saturday 27th, but I'll have to wait till nearer the time before I confirm. :)

Hi all interested mums,

We are meeting next on Wed 8th May at 7.30 pm at the windmill pub in clapham common. Another local photographer Peter Warrick has proposed to come along and talk to us about children portraiture.

If you would like to attend please get in touch, as it'd be good to have an idea of numbers.

Charlie Round-Turner also suggested another session for which we need to find a date, preferably on a Friday which seems to be a good day for most of us.

All the best

Hi all,

Just to let you Clapham photo-club had its second session last Wednesday.

Peter Warrick photographer - http://www.peterwarrick.co.uk/- talked to us about what makes good photography, how to 'make' not 'take' a good photograph stressing the importance of the set-up, lighting, background, tone of clothes and of course the energy transmitted.

It was a very beneficial session and I will write a post on it so that we can share the learning with other mums.

Thanks a lot for your time Peter and hopefully interested mums will contact you for lovely photo shoots.

All the best
Laura

I just wanted to add as well a big thank you to Peter for an amazing session at the last photo-club meet up. I have just been back from holidays and thanks to all the amazing tips I have returned with really nice pictures - all whilst fiddling less with my camera settings, so it has made a real difference! Also thank you again Laura for organising, looking forward to the next one.

Hi all,
Here is an article on what I learnt from Peter's session. Also slides of his talk are there too, at the end of the article.

If you want to get involved please let us know - even if it is for a coffee. We had one this morning and it was nice to meet again.
