Feathers Ball - to go or not to go?! Post Reply

Has anyone’s child been to a Feathers Ball recently? Specifically the Winter Ball which is for the 14-16 year olds. I am hearing mixed things about how well ‘policed’ it is, and I’ve heard various stories about a lot of extremely drunk children being collected at the end of the night - also drugs being taken etc. Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated - many thanks.

I went as a teen and it was horrible, lots of very arrogant drunk boarding school boys, I remember being groped and boys trying to shove their hands up friends skirts - I hope things have changed.

My daughter went last year, had a great time and said it was very well organised.

Kids do have ‘pre’s’ so might arrive having had a couple of drinks but she said there was no alcohol there.

I was really against it when it was first brought up to me (sounded like a recipe for "Cruel Intentions"), but some of the other mums convinced me. It was cute, the girls had fun, especially the prep before. It was very well organized from what I saw and policed really well. The kids had to point to you and say who you were before they were let go and surprisingly this didn't take as long as you'd think. Getting tickets however, was a nightmare.
