Hourly rate of pay for after school childcare in January 2025?

Postby AutumnJ » Sat Jan 25, 2025 4:02 pm

Please can anyone tell me what the hourly rate of pay is to look after one or two children. This involves picking them up from school, driving them to my house, helping with reading and homework, organising games and art/craft activities, cooking their supper and driving them back home?
I’m a retired Primary School teacher, mother and grandmother with an enhanced DBS check.
Thank you, Joanna

If it is at your house i think it would be childminding so i think around 10/12 hour per child depending on area.
Most nannies i know are around 16/20 net for after school roles.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to me, I do appreciate it.
The rate of pay per hour for my experience etc.was £15 per hour for one child and £18 for two children per hour
in 2022/2023.
The rate per hour must have increased since then, that is what I’m trying to find out.
Thank you, Joanna

An after school nanny would be between 17-21 per hour depending on experience
