Mentor Education’s 11 Plus Easter Course is designed for Year 5 students preparing for 11+ independent and grammar school entrance exams. Whether your child is already having 11 Plus tuition or is just starting their journey, this course will provide an academic boost at just the right time. Our students are typically applying for schools such as Alleyn's, JAGS, Emanuel, Dulwich College and City of London schools.
For children in Year 5 this is a key moment to solidify their curriculum knowledge and start to develop the advanced skills needed to gain an offer from a competitive school. We typically teach the following topics on our Easter course:
- Shapes (Maths and Reasoning)
- Factors and multiples (Maths)
- Difficult percentages (Maths)
- Ratios and proportions (Maths)
- Algebra (Maths)
- Advanced punctuation and grammar (Comprehension and Creative Writing)
- Planning and writing a story that stands out (Creative Writing)
- Inference (Comprehension and Creative Writing)
- Prediction (Comprehension and Creative Writing)
- Exam techniques: practicing working to time and how to pick up more marks.
