Job description:
Finance Manager for a respected architects’ practice specialising in historic building conservation, with 15 employees located within Fulham Palace. We are an employee owned business. The candidate will be responsible for the company’s financial management and will report the Directors and assist with managing the office. This is a part-time role. After the probationary period we are willing to discuss flexible working. We seek a team player who will seek to learn about our business and understand it. The successful candidate will need to work with our external accountant undertaking some of the following tasks.
Tasks include:
• Assist the Directors in analysing the financial performance of the practice.
• Posting transactions to QuickBooks.
• Helping gather information for preparing and issuing monthly fee accounts.
• Tracking cumulative fee position on projects.
• Daily management of banking and making payments.
• Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns.
• Preparing information to allow external accountants to prepare year-end accounts and quarterly management accounts.
• Preparing the annual statement of profit.
• Manage debtors and highlighting issues.
• Filing annual confirmation statements, assisted by external advisers where required.
• Filing annual share scheme filings, assisted by external advisers where required.
• Managing the time recording software package with administrative support.
• Annually renewing insurances for professional indemnity, office, IT and directors.
Essential attributes: A team player. Accountancy skills. Experience of working with QuickBooks or similar accounting package. Trustworthy, conscientious and discreet. Good communication skills and able to work well with others. Proficient with Outlook, Excel and other Microsoft software. Must have right to work in the UK. A willingness to learn about our business.
Desirable attributes: Familiarity with how architect’s practise. Experience of Noveos Practice Manger or similar time management system. Willingness to assist others.
