8 month health check

Postby Tealover » Fri May 07, 2010 1:09 pm

Does anyone know if the '8 month health check' for babies in the borough has changed? When my oldest little girl was coming up to 8 months I got a letter with an appointment at Stormont Road. I have a 9 month old and it has just occured to me that I have not received any appointment for her. Does anyone know if they still conduct these checks and do I have to make my own appointment and if so - do I call Stormont Road?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I was told by the Health Visitor that the check is now any time between 9 and 12 months, and you book it yourself. I called up Stormont and booked an appointment (can be a couple of weeks to wait, depending on how flexible you are with days/times) and it was all fine. I definitely didn't get any letter or anything.

I think that I got a letter for a 12 month check which was a bit random :? as i know with my first it was an 8 month check and so I just called and booked the appointment myself at 8 months. I think that things have changed as now my doctors don't remind me when my children need injections etc I just have a list of injections and the age they are required...
