From all of the team at Independent mindbodysoul we'd like to say a huge thank you to you all for the amazing support you've shown us at our Ritherdon Road mummy & baby spa over the years and we now have some news to share with you.

Due to the spiralling costs of rent and rates we have made the decision to bring our two spa locations together and move our mummy & baby spa into our Balham High Road site from 3rd December.

We've seen so many positive changes on Ritherdon Road over the past few years and we'll be sad to leave but we are excited to bring the best bits of this spa to Balham to offer you a one-stop hair and beauty experience.

You'll still be able to bring little ones along with you and this ties in with restrictions being lifted to now allow children into our lower level spa, so we'll now be even more mum- and baby-friendly at our hair salon & urban spa than we are already.

We're revamping our Balham salon & spa with a new look upstairs so that from December 3rd you will be able to enjoy our new 'garden room', bringing the outside in and keeping little ones entertained with our blackboard wall (a favourite from Ritherdon Rd!), playpen and toys, while you relax on our comfy armchairs for manicures and pedicures.

You'll still be able to enjoy a massage, facial, waxing and other treatments in our spa downstairs with your tot in tow and can make use of a travel cot in your treatment room, just like at Ritherdon Road.

OH no this is such a shame! The Balham Spa is such a poor alternative to the lovely setup at the Ritherdon Rd branch. I also can't imagine this merge going down all that well with non-mums or mum's looking for an hour or 2 of escape!

Thanks Annabel, we will certainly miss the community on Ritherdon Road!

MillieNZ , in terms of locating within our Balham site, we recognised that our existing format at Balham wasn't ideal for mums which is why we are having the revamp at the start of December and we're bringing the best mum- and baby-friendly aspects of our Ritherdon Rd spa up to Balham.

We're making use of the space upstairs to create a 'garden room', which will replicate our Ritherdon Rd 'relaxation area' (only better!) with comfy armchairs for guests while our therapists perform manicures and pedicures and a safe area for your little ones to play.

For those visiting us without tots, rest assured that our spa treatment rooms downstairs will remain the oasis of calm you expect with just the added extras of our new 'garden room' upstairs.

We'd love you to pop in for a cup of tea and a complimentary hand and arm massage and take a look around once the work is complete on 3rd December!
