Wandsworth Sash Windows: A company to avoid

Postby Babyccino » Tue Jul 04, 2017 10:37 pm

In case you are considering Wandsworth Sash Windows, I wanted to share some feedback on my experience with them

Missed appointments
Asked for an upfront payment before conducting the work
Failed to deliver (what they fixed broke after a couple of weeks)
Did not properly clean up after the job was done
Asked for additional fees to come and fix
Did not consider a refund

I really regret using this company, avoid them!

I'm sure I've mentioned these guys before, but if you're looking for great sash windows, we had the most pleasant experience with London Box Sash: http://www.londonboxsash.com/

We recommended them to our new neighbour across the road and his windows are looking great too! They use an Accoya wood product (I was skeptical too, but reading about it made me go for it) and they're a local, British company that makes the windows in Mitcham.

After such horrendous experiences with other tradesmen and firms (Simply Lofts / Build London should always be avoided!), these guys were a breath of fresh air.

Couldn't agree more, wish I have read your post before I hired their service!

Poor customer service from the moment you pay them, which is obviously in advance. I had to constantly chase for a commitment on installation dates and it went downhill from there: workers did not show up on the scheduled day of work (!!), came next day (a Friday) saying it was a "1-day job" but could not finish ahead of the weekend so our toddler had to sleep in our bedroom, left nails all around the exterior of our window, did not adjust the vertical bricks at the top of our window (even though they included £200 extra for that exact reason!!) and then, when I wrote a formal complaint to their head office the answer was 'what do you want?'...to what I replied asking for fixes and/or a deduction for what I paid and I got no answer!! Appalling some companies still think they can get away with ripping off customers and delivering a poor service!

We bought from Wandsworth Sash windows and they made badly (they are made in Eastern Europe somewhere, not Wandsworth)

After they were fitted some were drafty and had gaps between the frame and window when closed.

Within a year the outsides of quite a few windows were cracking and had to be professionally redone.

Its a family business and the young boys/dad who run it just don't care about their customers. I know people who have taken them to court to get refunds and won.Wouldn't even recommend this company to my worst neighbours!
