The Simply Construction Group is a home extension, loft and basement conversion design and build specialist, managed by husband and wife team, Robert and Helen Wood. Being a family-run business since 2008, Robert and Helen offer a personal touch and understanding of how London families and homeowners want to expand their homes, and their growing team of site managers and project supervisors guarantees superior service, no matter what the size of the project. Customer service is at the forefront of the business, with its mission being to improve and professionalise the construction industry for clients.

When Robert left his full-time career in project management of railway and underground construction in London to set up the Simply Extend, Simply Loft and Simply Basement brands, the company started with a vision of creating a domestic building company that would focus on delivering home improvement in a simple and clearly structured way. As a result, Simply Construction Group is one of the few building contractors who have a dedicated customer service team on hand to help guide clients through their projects. As well as having a reliable contact on the end of the phone, it’s also managed through an online dashboard developed by Robert to offer total transparency for everyone involved – from architects and contractors, to project managers and the clients themselves. With everybody having access to the same information, from timelines to costings, there is no room for delays or hidden price hikes. The result is open communication and an efficient project.

It’s a sad fact that the highest number of insolvencies happen in the construction industry, meaning many of the customers’ warranties aren’t worth the paper they’re written on. But with over 15 years in the business (and thriving) and thousands of projects completed across London, Simply Construction Group know they can protect their clients. The last couple of years has seen the considerable growth of Simply Basement, with high-end designs and ambitious extensions completed across London. Typically, a basement would take 30 to 40 weeks and starts from £400k; a loft is eight to 12 weeks and starts from £50k; and an extension would take 12 to 14 weeks and costs from £50k.
