To accompany the lightening evenings, a day of heart-warming thanks and good will at Putney-based Falcons School for Girls was enjoyed.

Around the world many countries have a special Teacher Appreciation Day and this gave the Parent Friends Association (PFA) the idea to establish a day of appreciation at Falcons Girls, in order to celebrate the wonderful teachers at the school who inspire their pupils. This annual event was their opportunity to thank them.

The surprise was kept up until the weekly assembly, on Friday 10th February, when the girls personally gave each teacher a gorgeous string of hand-made bunting created out of triangles with words of appreciation on them. Each girl (3-11years) made 2 triangles for their Teacher, Teaching assistant or Specialist Subject teacher. The triangles were collected by the PFA and beautifully strung up on ribbon ready for the teachers to be presented, surprised and thrilled at the assembly.

Headmistress at Falcons Girls, Sophia Ashworth Jones commented: “It was a very special day, where the girls and staff alike felt lucky to be part of such a warm and cherishing Falcons Girls family.”

If you too would like to be a part of a community of nurturing creativity then please get in touch with their registrar Mrs Hutton on Georgia.Hutton@falconsgirls.co.uk. In addition, for those imminent Year 3 places come September 2017, they are holding a Scholarship Assessment Day on the 25th February 2017, details on enquiry.
