People usually have a rough idea of how much drink to buy for a party. Its OK to wing it if buying for a small gathering, but when the numbers are larger it pays to get the quantities right. This way you can set a proper budget and avoid oversupplying – or worse – running dry with a houseful of thirsty guests.

Wandsworth-based caterer Forkful Food is happy to let clients supply their own booze (and we don’t charge corkage). To help you on your way, we’ve put together this handy guide.

To calculate what drinks you’ll need for your drinks party, follow these simple steps:

  • 1. Work out how much people will drink based on the length of the party
  • 2. Decide what drinks you are going to offer
  • 3. Multiply the number of guests x the number of drinks per head (eg. 40 guests x 5 drinks = 200 drinks), guesstimate what proportion of guests are likely to drink fizz/ wine/beer/spirits etc.
  • 4. Look at the “How many drinks in a bottle” to calculate how many bottles of each type of drink to buy.

Priced at just £15 for 10 canapés per head (usually £18.50), our canapés are delivered beautifully plated and ready to serve on stackable, lidded platters. All you have to do is invite the guests, supply the drinks, and enjoy yourselves!

Lemongrass beef skewers with Asian dipping sauce h/c
Open steak sandwich with truffle butter, rocket & parmesan
Caramelised pear, mozzarella and prosciutto skewers
Chorizo cups filled with saffron aioli, topped with quails egg & chives
Beetroot falafel with whipped feta & glacé beetroot
Goats cheese & thyme mousse tartlets with onion marmalade & caramelised walnuts Mini squash, feta & spinach frittatas

BOOKING: should you wish to book Forkful Food, a 25% deposit is required to secure the date, with final numbers and the balance due 7 working days before the event.
HIRE COSTS, DELIVERY & COLLECTION: We don’t charge for the hire of our high quality platters but we do ask that you clean and return them to us as soon after your event as possible. We offer free local delivery; if you need us to collect our platters we charge from £25 depending on your location.
