This year marks the 40th in the history of The Roche School, a leading nursery and primary school in Wandsworth.

The Roche School started life with five children in 1983 when Carmen Roche opened “Mrs Roche’s Coaching Establishment”. The focus on “thorough teaching in a homely environment” was popular with families, and led the tutorial school to grow rapidly. Pupils achieved excellent results including scholarships to top schools like Westminster, Wycombe Abbey and St Paul’s, whilst having lots of fun – just as they do today.

The school has been through the Dr Roche years and is onto a new era with a young and enthusiastic Sophie Roche. They have seen many wonderful children pass through their doors, flourishing in the warmth and encouragement of a challenging, aspirational, family-run, emotionally intelligent school. There are now Roche alumni carving out lives for themselves all over the world in different organisations and industries, and building amazing careers for themselves – a testament to the breadth of opportunity they enjoyed at the school.
