With the amount of coverage this is getting the implication is the Lego/Daily Mail relationship is most probably over for good irrespective of the semantics of the statement from Lego.

All the Independent are going on is the Lego tweet - which does not mention advertising.

On the independent is says "Stop Advertising"....in any case not such a meaningless campaign! Have joined too!

It doesn't say that at all!

Promotions are a type of advertising. And the father who wrote to Lego in the first place asking them to stop their collaboration with the DM, was specifically referring to their promotions.
And, anyway, does it matter? This is a major brand saying they are cutting ties with the DM as a direct response to a campaign you described as meaningless. And If that's what you believe, is absolutely fine. Others have a different opinion, and that's fine too.

People are interpreting this as them not advertising - which is not what they've said at all. Promotion is not the same as advertising.

Brexiters have been moaning about the EU for decades and were allowed to. Now apparently no complaining is permitted, even if they want to drag us to a suicidal hard brexit.

It's always been like with US Immigration. I worked there in the early '90's with all the right documentation. Total pain going through Miami dealing with agents who could barely speak.

I would think twice about going to Disneyland.

My white British husband travelling for business to the US in August was detained for three ours after landing. He was not given a reason or let him use his mobile phone to let his client know he was going to be late. A pregnant woman had been there for 5 hours. A Chinese national for days. He said he felt like a criminal. You could not complain or ask questions. I cannot see it getting better with Trump.

It may not happen to you but I am definitely not going to risk my children going through that. Disneyland Paris will do just fine.

Look on the bright side, Disneyland has just become more afforable!!
