Re: Timothy West sells family home on Spencer Park

Thank you for posting this. An inspiring piece for those who have family members with dementiaI. I am sure that they will be missed by their neighbours.

Re: Meet Sophia: The future of tuition

Not sure how this sort of platform will match the children with tutors, surely the most important fact?
Appreciate that world is moving more and more this way but I do think compatibility is very important for tutors.

Re: How do I get my overweight partner to lose weight?

I think it sounds like there is something else going on here. Probably a mid life crisis of some sorts. We seem to have so many unhappy dads in our circle at the moment. Mostly hating their jobs and only seeing another 20 years of the same ahead. I would keep trying on the joint effort suggestion. I...

Re: Is my husband being led astray?

I have to say that I wouldn't be too happy. It is great that he wants to help him but there has to be a balance.  Might be helpful if you suggest that he ropes in some other old friends so that they can share the load. Have you told him how you feel?

Re: Battersea state primary schools - recommendations please!

I have 2 friends with children at Belleville Wix and both rave continually so I think a thumbs up for that one. Similarly I know families with children at Shaftesbury Park (not as well) who are also pleased with that school. I think that the best thing to do is to go and visit each school on an open...

Re: Is anyone else feeling really fed up with the state of things right now?

I am so with you. I was very interested in Brexit to begin with but now I am dismayed with what it has led to and so underwhelmed by the potential options of leadership its not true. But still newspapers prefer to discuss BJ girlfriend and his new haircut :-( I feel for your secondary school but the...

Re: Friend wants to bring another family friend on our holiday

I think that i would be totally upfront and honest and say that unless it will cause her a huge issue you would really prefer it if you kept to just the two families.

Its not just a meal out it is your holiday and I think its ok to want to leave it how it was arranged.

Re: Husband's financial deceit means son now can't go to private school

Yes I would suggest speaking to the schools about what has happened although they may have already allocated bursaries some schools have hardship funds. I guess it depends on whether you think you will get back to where you thought you were?

Good luck with it all.

Re: Young teen struggling with school entrance process

Role Models run confidence courses which get great feedback. Might make him not feel too alone if he's on a course. Not sure if The Parent Practice would be of any use? I don't know if they work with teens as well as parents but they would be offer you some advice. Both get lots of write ups on NVN....
