Re: Traditional Christmas is causing issues with girlfriend

Oh gosh!!! Cooking, washing up… Maybe some folk need to get into the 21st century and get a slow cooker (or three, depending on how many people will be eating), or do some quick vegetable roasting/steaming, get a ready made turkey from somewhere and just let the ladies enjoy the holiday for once. Oh...

Re: Parent smacking someone else’s child

I don’t have children but I’m a particular fan of crime dramas and that is an assault. Gentle parenting or not, nobody has the right to hit someone else (much less a child!!!) unless it’s a case of self defence or defence of others which, in this case, it was none of the above. Totally agree that if...

Re: Au pair cost

“…Remember Au Pairs are unskilled. They also have all their food, bills and accommodation (anyone paid to rent recently £££) paid for. It’s purely pocket money and £120/£130 is alot for a young adult with no outgoings….“ Not all au-pairs are unskilled and a lot of the advertising requires “experienc...

Re: how long does a first passport take to sort out?

I’m waiting for mine presently. I sent my papers in two weeks ago. Will let you know when I get it if you’d like. I heard it could be anything between six and eight weeks.

Re: Chelsea and Westminster Maternity

My boss told me she was given a few options for her delivery and St. Mary’s (the hospital where the royal children were born, I mean) was one of them. They live in Greenwich. Have you tried that one? I don’t have experience of it, just a suggestion…

Re: my au pair family taking advantage

They are definitely taking advantage of you - agreed! £150 is not all that generous considering all the work you do. Two full days and 3 half days but on the half days you have to do this and that while the child is at nursery… that doesn’t sound like a half day to me at all!!! So you actually work ...

Re: Best of luck to Prince George and other pupils starting school this week!

I understand that the taxpayer will have to pick up the tap for the security of George's school runs. I don't get why the taxpayer will be paying for the prince's education though... Is that a law or something?!? :? Thomas's is way less stuffy that one of those boarding schools methinks... And let's...

Re: Au pair and housework!

It needs to be specified clearly during the interview, or rather in the ad. The following - dishwasher loading/clearing out, sticking a load of washing in the washing machine and hanging it out to dry every day, cleaning the kitchen after you (and the kids) eat and HELPING the kids tidy up their toy...

Re: Screaming child in back garden

Dear WW, seeing as most everyone is advising you to go and have a friendly chat with the "offender"'s parents and their living quarters need to be identified first, here is my advice... Go and buy yourself a drone, let it loose and find the house in question. That done, bake a - dairy-, nu...

Re: Husband doesn't want me to drink

Hi there, this from my perspective and you can draw whatever conclusions sound good to you from it.... I don't drink. never have, never will. For religious reasons and because alcohol is bad for me (so is sugar but I love cake and ice cream in great moderation :P :D ) Hence, I only date guys from my...

Re: Top "posh" baby names revealed...

Yak, Yellow and Koala... If any child born this year ends up with one of these three names they will probably sue their parents ca. 18 to 20 years from now due to excess bullying (at school) and total lack of common sense (the parents, not the bullies) ...

Re: Husband wants to go on holiday on his own

Congratulations! your post made it on The Wright Stuff (morning talk show on Channel 5) this morning! As for your husband wanting a break... What he needs is a reality check! I agree with one of the previous posts... You should leave him with your kids for a week so he can get a feeling of what a st...

Re: Pedestrianise Oxford Street - what do you think?

Loads of buss routs use Oxford Street and a number of side streets are one way only... If you lived there and had to drive out of your street that is direction Oxford Street only you will have to go on reverse to the next parallel street... That would be fun, don't you think?!? :D :D :D

Re: Belleville/Honeywell first offer distance?

That is The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints and I believe they do hold a number of weekly services there. Whilst the area could do with some more schools, with or without MP signatures, I don't think you can just requisition a place of worship because it's on a great site, but correct me i...
