Re: Licensing Objection on Battersea Rise - Please help us and object to the Council!

I love Humble Grape, it's a lovely independent restaurant bar, and to be honest think you are scaremongering, and this is just an example of outright Nimbyism at its worst I'm sorry but the type of clientele that frequents the Humble Grape is hardly the type to  indulge in "loud and lairy condu...

Doing up your bathroom? Sandblasted glass panels, ideal for shower cubicle

I have two glass panels which were intended for use as a shower screen, made by Balham Glass. They would be ideal for someone installing a new tailoir-made shower and looking for an etched glass screen, with fixed panel plus holes drilled in for hinges. Etched/sandblasted glass is great, because not...

Re: What DO we want on Northcote Road???

Denwand, it couldn't be easier to get to Peter Jones in Sloane Square - the 319 bus goes directly there!.

So I somehow doubt that John Lewis will be opening a Battersea outpost in the near future - sadly. But Debenhams is so much better than it used to be, the beauty hall is pretty good at least.

Re: Looking for a young male babysitter!

Hi my 18 year old son would be happy to help out. He's currently doing his A levels at Graveney and has done a considerable amount of babysitting for my sister who has two children aged 5 and 1.
He's reliable, easy going and personable so do get in touch if you're still looking for someone.

Re: Cookery classes suitable for dads!!

I can vouch for the Cookhouse too, though confess I haven't actually attended the Dad's course. However, I recently went on one of their canapés course, and it was a really informative, fun and entertaining evening. In the spirit of full disclosure, I must reveal that Emma and Steph are good friends...

Re: Aldi or Lidl?

I've never shopped at Aldi, but think Lidl is fab for certain things - being German, their cold meats such as hams and salamis are great and good value for money, as are their yoghurts, cheeses, chocolates, oh and the iced brioche is divine, though I have to avoid buying it as I can't resist scoffin...

Re: Chivalry Road Playground / Bolingbroke Academy

I find some of the posters' attitudes on this subject hideously snobbish, and quite reprehensible. I have a 13 year old son who attends Bolingbroke Academy; he previously attended Honeywell and we don't live on the Winstanley estate, but in the sanctity of Between the Commons. Despite this, he is no...
