Re: can i move my terminally ill father in with a young family at home?

My sympathies to you. If it helps to know about my experience, my grandma was diagnosed with cancer whilst visiting us when I was 7 and ended up staying with us during her illness and death about 6 months later (she lived alone abroad so no-one wanted her to go back). My brothers were younger than m...

Re: Discrimination at school?

I support schools who are doing all they can to achieve full attendance (I understand that research shows it makes a positive difference to the individual and the class) - but I also completely agree with you that these sort of attendance awards discriminate against children who have medical conditi...

Electric car charging points

Hello all, our old car probably doesn't have much life left in it, and we are considering replacing it with an electric car at some point. Our main consideration is worry about the horrible levels of pollution in London, particularly as we aren't too far from the South Circular. We don't want to add...

Re: Straight question: what is best nursery BTC or around?

Hello. Is Elm Park nursery too far away for you? On Clarence Avenue, near Abbeville. We were very pleased with it - and it has the best garden I could find of any when I was looking at nurseries, plus Montessori and plenty of extra activities when they're a little older, and kind staff.

Re: Pregnant looking for a personal trainer / +training partner on Sat mornings

Hello - congratulations on your pregnancy. I used to use a personal trainer called Sarah O'Neill on Clapham Common, though I think she does travel to other locations or to you (when my baby was tiny she came to my home a couple of times). She is fantastic! Excellent with pregnant women and new Mums....

Re: Want to learn more about the EU?

That's a good idea. I'm already a bit fed up with the debate being dominated by people who already have zealous views one way or another. But I know it's an important issue and I want to be well informed when it comes to the vote. It'd be good to get past the entrenched positions and consider more f...

Re: Where to donate used baby clothes and equipment

Yes I would also suggest Little Village - seems like a great idea: www.littlevillagehq.com

Congratulations to the local mums who've set it up.

Re: Cavapoo advice please

Thanks so much Jasmine's Mum. That's a helpful suggestion - and reassuring to get such a positive report from an owner of a Cavapoo. I'm grateful for your response.

Cavapoo advice please

Hello everyone. After a lot of research we have decided to get a cavapoo puppy in the next 6-12 months. We think its size, temperament, need for exercise etc will suit us and we've planned how to take some time off to help it settle in. We've thought about walk and care options etc. But the area I f...

Re: NHS Dentist

Yes I'd second Clapham South - brilliant with my (then) 18 month old, who had been very tricky to get to have her teeth brushed. She refused to open her mouth but they just talked to her very kindly about keeping her teeth clean and showed her what they do to check - using me as an example. Somethin...

Re: Dear councils, can we have some more playgrounds please?

I am struck by the huge contrast between the amazing playground at Brockwell Park and the terribly shabby one on Clapham Common (and the worse one in Agnes Riley Gardens - which is used by a lot of people who have no private access to outside space) every time we visit. Having read about the level o...

Nanny share - looking for another family

Hello, We have a 2 year old daughter who attends nursery from 8am-3pm Mondays-Wednesdays. Our fabulous Swedish nanny looks after her from 3pm-6pm Monday-Wednesdays, taking her to the park, playing at home, doing art, etc and then cooks her tea. On Thursdays she looks after our daughter in the mornin...
