Re: NHS alert issued for children

And I should apologise for my slightly abrupt reaction! I am just exasperated by the amount of Daily Mail (a newspaper that I despise with all my heart) articles I receive from various whatsapp groups. That paper is just designed to create fear and sensationalise stories ! Apologies and thank you fo...

Re: NHS alert issued for children

This sounds like it straight from the toe rag newspaper the Daily Mail.

Sure enough - just did a quick google and the Daily trash has it as its front line headline.  Sky news and BBC News don't even have it in their main stories.

Usual Daily Trash scaremongering.

Re: School fees for next term

Completely agree with the poster above.  I would hope that no teachers / caterers / ground staff loose any income but schools in my opinion should give a small discount as clearly the service provided is not what people sacrifice to pay for.  My children schools have done between 10% and 15%.  And w...

Re: School fees for next term

The difference being of course that Thomas’ Clapham is a business not a trust. And as such their main interest is making money.

Sad truth. I made the mistake of sending one of my children to an independent school that was a business and never again!

Re: **BEWARE WHILST WAITING IN A CAR AT CLAPHAM JUNCTION STATION**

I am in the same position Memphis73.  I have not heard from Gladstone since November and am still waiting a Judgement date.  I am hoping they will go away.  I have had some legal advice on the matter as this is the first time I have done anything like this but having done a lot of reading on Gladsto...

Re: How big is the academic gap between Honeywell and Newton Prep?

If I could do it all over again and had I had the amazing option of Honeywell... I  would 200% chose Honeywell !    I have children at 3 different excellent private secondary schools and honestly I think they would have all ended up in the same secondary schools had they gone to one of the amazing s...

Re: General Election - what do we think for Battersea?

Agree with the Marsha de Cordova "low wattage performance" comment ! I think we probably all know that she only won because it was an anti Brexit vote.  I feel for Jane Ellison who was actually an active / visible MP who in my experience responded to e mails and helped with local issues. I cannot br...

Re: Step2two closed yesterday and Bills now gone too.

I am surprised at Step2Two as it was also always buys ?  And ... Kids shoes are the one thing that is tricky to buy online so I wonder what happened there. Soon the whole street will just be coffee shops / bars and restaurants which is such a shame...disappointing that the council seems to be unable...

Re: **BEWARE WHILST WAITING IN A CAR AT CLAPHAM JUNCTION STATION**

rog747 thank you for your post. If you google IAS it will show that this is not an independent service after all !  The IAS is owned by the parking companies and apparently any appeals to the IAS are futile as they will never rule against the parking companies.   This is from the IAS website: The IA...

Re: **BEWARE WHILST WAITING IN A CAR AT CLAPHAM JUNCTION STATION**

My appeal was also unsuccessful and I have now taken this to The Independent Appeals Service.  I have told them that I am happy to go all the way to Arbitration (I have had legal advice on this from a friend and apparently they don't have a leg to stand on).   As per one of the suggestions above I a...

Re: Looking for non-selective private secondary or prep

From what I understand Emanuel is much harder to get in at 10+ than 11+ so I would try again next year if you feel its the right school for your daughter ?  I don't have direct experience but it does seem like a lovely school and I know a lot of happy children there. From your list I would also prob...

Re: **BEWARE WHILST WAITING IN A CAR AT CLAPHAM JUNCTION STATION**

Jonas thank you for the helpful post. I have not yet heard back on my appeal but will keep the above in mind. Alchemy I don’t think anyone here is suggesting we should be parking for free. We are talking about pick up points which there seems to be a distinctive lack of at Clapham junction. And now ...

Re: **BEWARE WHILST WAITING IN A CAR AT CLAPHAM JUNCTION STATION**

I also received a fine! I have contested it on the grounds that they sent me a very dark photograph with only my number plate visible (I could have literally been anywhere!) and on the basis that there is no sign at the car stipulating maximum waiting time. On the day in question I must have been th...

Re: Motorbike or Scooter insurance

I use Bennett’s but my scooter is so crappy and old that I now only do third party fire and theft.

My premium quote for fully comprehensive last year was up by approximately 80%.
