Re: New Facebook Group set up to Resist Wandsworth Council's Ill Thought Out Traffic Madness

I am part of the group. I have been sharing the petitions, emailing to the relevant emails (heard nothing back yet) and am writing as both a business owner of a shop on Balham High Road and as an Auntie of a shielding Nephew going through Chemotherapy who needs to be in a car to get to his appointme...

Re: Rosena Khan

Was going to suggest Twitter too, I've met her in my shop (in it's former format) when she was a counsellor, she had just had a baby at the time.

Re: Has Bertie and Boo Balham closed?

I've also heard about the planning permission re: Bertie and Boo closing, the Northcote Road and Soft Play sites are not affected so should remain open! The manager of the Gazette was grinning from ear to ear when I saw him last week emptying the restaurant. They have other sites, so expect the staf...

Re: Buying around Streatham Common

Having lived in SW London for the whole of my life, believe you me areas change so much! Areas that were rough are now sough after and now those sough after areas are now considered to be a bit run down. All the schools in Streatham that were "lovely community schools", but not that academ...

Re: Balham High Road rent £60k per annum!

Hello, In the case of this specific shop, the reason it closed wasn't the price. The man who owned and run the business there died suddenly - must be about three years ago. The rent has gone up significantly since it was first vacant, but there have also been lots of renovations done inside the shop...

Recycling of Bras and Ella's Kitchen Pouches on Balham High Road

Hello everyone, Do you have Bras to recycle? They can be in any condition, just washed! If you do, bring them along to the bra bank at Natural for Baby. Do you use Ella's Kitchen pouches (or a Supermarket's own brand in the same style of packaging), did you know they can be recycled too at Natural ...

Re: Horrifying moment thug in passing car shoves cyclist into bus stop on main road

There is a lot of anger between cyclists and drivers at the moment on the cycle super highway. Two weeks ago a 15/16 year old boy was knocked off his bike by a driver, I noticed him flying into the air outside my shop. I don't know if the boy was messing about or not, but the driver didn't stop. He ...

Re: How many former Tory voters in Battersea or Merton will be voting differently this time?

Just to say that I'm finding everything so interesting this time. I have a friend standing in Merton for the Lib Dems, have a former colleague who is the brains behind the business side of the Green Party, a friend who has stood locally (used to live in London, now lives outside) for the Conservativ...

Re: Registry for baby shower?

This is interesting reading and frequently debated in my shop by parents-to-be! It seems the majority of Mums-to-be have baby showers these days and some have even had a few - colleagues, friends & family showers done separately for example! I have only had a few people doing a wish list in the ...

Re: Clapham Pregnancy & Baby Show 8th October

Just to say that for the first time I'll be there with a Natures Purest Balham stall! I'll be bringing the brand new range and a few other bits and pieces from the shop (which is very conveniently down the road from Henry Cavendish School)!

The shop will be open as normal :D

Re: Balham bus stop crash, one fatality

They took the bus stop post away yesterday late morning. It's directly opposite my shop, very sad yesterday to have found out why it was cordoned off.

Re: Alterations

Hello - Not in SW11, but next door in SW12 there is a great lady who did an alteration for me the other week. I noticed she had had recommendations here years ago, but needed a very fussy bridesmaid dress to be taken in and didn't want to do to a Dry Cleaner alterations place so went there and hoped...

Re: Two closures on Bellevue Road?

The small shops available in Northcote Road this time last year were about £60k, the Bellevue Road ones were about £35k - same size as my shop or £25k for the tiny shop when I spent months trying to find a shop! Here in Balham, not sadly next door to Waitrose which would be the idea spot (they have ...

Re: Two closures on Bellevue Road?

This is sad news, I looked at those shops when on my long search to find a shop where a Landlord would rent to a small business owner. Here in Balham where my shop is, the footfall has been very poor, but did improve with the better weather the other week, so hope it continues to improve... Have you...

Re: Click and Collect" where else in SW London?

Good morning - sorry, I missed the question back to me. I own Natures Purest Balham. The shop is the first Natures Purest shop in London. I opened the shop in June 2014! https://www.facebook.com/NaturesPurestBalham Although Facebook calls this a Child shop, it is a baby shop, 100% organic naturally ...
