There is a MASSIVE sign before you enter the car park saying, among other things, “there is no free parking”. Seems clear to me.

(You say that you got a ticket having spent “more than 10 minutes” in the area. This is not what the pick up and drop off area is intended for.)

Re: Unauthorised Absence from School

Wandsworth has a minimum attendance target of 95%, and the Education Welfare Officer reviews attendance records regularly and will probably follow up if attendance falls short of this target. Personally I think as long as the child has perfect attendance otherwise and is not struggling academically ...

Re: Wanted - Reliable Honest MOT Testing Garage That Doesn't Fool You Into Unnecessary Work - Ideas Please!

Apollo Service Centre on Armoury Way have been very good, even fixing minor things for free!

Their charges for repairs (that are actually required) are also reasonable, or they happily let you take your car elsewhere to be fixed and will retest without a fuss.

Re: What DO we want on Northcote Road???

There's a new cafe at the quiet end of Northcote Road, at number 184 (opposite SDS). It's called Uncommon Cafe and is well worth a visit -- excellent cakes and smoothies, good coffee, and friendly service.

Re: Anyone know what's going on with Everyone Bikes?

Windows now painted over, so looks like they're gone for good. What a pity -- very surprising too, as less than a month ago they were advertising for a new bike mechanic to join them.

Re: Bullying at local school

Haven’t experienced any bullying at Honeywell (Infants), although my children are relatively young.

Which year is this happening in? What kind of bullying is it, physical or verbal?

And yes, the school will take it very seriously, so address it ASAP. Good luck!

Re: Anyone know what's going on with Everyone Bikes?

There is a proposal at Companies House for them to be struck off:

I hope they re-open, as it was such a friendly and welcoming place, and very conveniently located.

Tickets are only available for parents at the consortium of private schools

And Honeywell school too, this year, for the first time.

Battersea Park fireworks are significantly cheaper though (£10 for adults and free for kids, vs. £15 for both adults and kids).

Starbucks has closed (permanently), apparently in 20 years they only managed to make a profit once.

Re: What DO we want on Northcote Road???

Finally went to Manifesto tonight.

The pizza was amazing, really miles ahead of anywhere else.

Unfortunately the place was virtually deserted, its decor is stark anyway, but with nobody there it really didn’t feel very welcoming.

Has anybody been to Manifesto, the new pizzeria where Park Road Kitchen used to be? Any good?

Proper as in Greggs? Or proper as in not Gails over priced (but lovely) stuff?

Not sure Greggs counts as a “proper” bakery in my books...

It’s a branch of a Cornwall bakers, so they do lovely pasties as well as bread, pastries, cakes, quiches etc.

Friendly service and fair prices too.
